Be-Atzmi (in Hebrew: On My Own), an NGO founded in 1995, is a professional social non-profit organization with a wealth of experience promoting employment among underprivileged men and women throughout Israel. Be-Atzmi's target audiences include men, women, young adults,

As of 2011, Be-Atzmi implements 53 employment projects in 35 communities throughout Israel, with a focus on the geographic and social peripheries. In 2010 alone, 4,000 men and women across Israel participated in Be-Atzmi's programs, a number which rose to approximately 9,500 in 2011. Be-Atzmi is proud to have a 67% rate of successful job placement for its graduates .

Be-Atzmi's key program is MIFNE (in Hebrew: A Turning Point), an employment advancement program for underprivileged populations operated in cooperation with the business, public and philanthropic sectors. Be-Atzmi has also founded a chain of JOB CLUBS which provide support and occupational guidance for job seekers in the setting of a local social club open to all residents of the community. In 2008, the organization developed TAASU-KAV, an employment call help line offering support, consultation and advice for unemployed men and women. These services operate on a nationwide scale and have gained professional and public recognition, as well as the support of the National Insurance Institute's Special Projects Fund.
Over time the organization has gained the trust of the relevant government ministries and TEVET-JDC and now serves as professional headquarters for wide-scale national programs. In 2009 Be-Atzmi won the bid to operate and manage the central program for advancing employment among ultra-orthodox Jews in Israel, MAFTEACH (Centers for Developing Employment for the Ultra-Orthodox). In 2010, the organization won the bid to operate the Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services' central program for ADVANCING EMPLOYMENT AND FINANCIAL GUIDANCE for unemployed families, on a nationwide scale.

The organization operates unique programs for Ethiopian families, offering comprehensive guidance with an emphasis on advancing employment: SHAHAM (Integration, Education, Society and Family) for Ethiopian families at risk, developed at the JDC and under Be-Atzmi's sole responsibility since 2003, and ATZMAUT (in Hebrew: Independence) a holistic program which provides educational, family and employment support for Ethiopian families, from TEVET-JDC. The organization can look back upon a wealth of accumulated experience, having managed and operated many different TEVET employment programs over the years, including ESHET CHAYIL and AVI CHAYIL (among female and male Ethiopian immigrants, respectively) and STRIVE TEL-AVIV-JAFFA (for young-adults).
